Polio drop contamination? Panel to probe reports Krishna district, Jan 26 (INN): Krishna District Health Officer Shalini Devi on Wednesday said that a three-member experts team, comprising of doctors has been set up to probe into reports that nearly 30 children fell ill after being administered polio drops at Chevuripalem in Mudinepally mandal in Gudivada. Talking to media persons, Dr Shalini Devi said that the experts' team of doctors would shortly visit the village and enquire about the incident.
According to reports, nearly 30 children were admitted to various hospitals in Gudivada town after falling ill, allegedly after being administered polio drops as part of the ongoing pulse polio drive on Wednesday. The anxious parents alleged that the children had fallen ill after being administered the polio drops in their villages. The children might fallen ill due to any other reasons, Dr Shalini Devi said and added there was no possibility of any adverse reaction from the polio drops.
