Double tragedy: Brothers die in freak mishap Warangal, Dec 25 (INN): In a particularly tragic incident, two brothers drowned in agricultural well after the elder one tried to save his younger sibling at Verraram Village, Maripeda mandal in the district on early Saturday. According to Sub-Inspector Shaik Adbul Rahman, the two brothers Neltakani Bhagath (23) and Neltakani Tilak (20) were MBBS final year and B Tech final year students respectively. They were at their agricultural field on Saturday, Christmas Day and a holiday. Mr Abdul Rahman said that the brothers had ventured to their field at around at 8 AM and were about to let out water for the fields where their family grew chillies, paddy and ground nuts.
The incident took place when the water pump they switched on stopped working after some time. Tilak ventured near the well and tried to see what was wrong with it when a jolt of electricity made him lose his balance. He fell inside the well. Bhagat ran to the well and attempted to save his younger brother's life. Neither of the brothers knew swimming. They both were drowned. The scene at the residence of the two brothers was too heart-wrenching even for the police officer, whose voice cracked as he gave INN the details. Police reached the spot on getting information and shifted the victims to hospital for autopsy. A case has been registered.
