Articles: Politics | Winning horse strategy - Mr. Vachaspathi V
| |
The winning horse strategy followed by various political parties made politics a murky business as not all the politicians are respected by the voters in India due to the presence of less percentage of women in the politics. People are accustomed by fake promises by the political parties.
It’s time to change as there are more women members in the parliament and we have woman Lok Sabha Speaker. The presence of minimum 33 percent of women is a must for a change in the political atmosphere. Mr. Sharad Yadav has made an irresponsible statement in a threatening manner of taking poison against the present form of the Women Reservation Bill. It will be considered as an attempt to derail the legislation once again.
Instead of fighting for Quota System in the seats, why don’t the political parties follow Internal Quota in giving the party tickets to women during the elections? The Political Parties must follow conventions with commonsense and conviction instead of fighting for Quotas.
Though Mr. Sharad Yadav has a point to be listened, let his party give 33 percent Quota System to women and let him be Prime Mover in this direction in India. Let every party follow the internal Quotas for OCs, OBCs, BCs, SCs and STs to see 33 per cent of women legislators, more women Speakers, Chief Ministers and Ministers in India.
There must be a way out and political will to reform the system from the present state to better way to change the political atmosphere towards the social justice. The Political Parties must realize that internal Quota System will be more useful to promote Social Justice instead of Quota System in the Legislatures as it will be an issue of electioneering.
