KCR assures to implement all promises

Hyderabad, Jan 20 (INN): Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao said that all the welfare and developmental schemes, which were mentioned by Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan in his joint address to the Telangana Legislature, will be fully implemented fully.

Replying to the debate on Motion of Thanks to the Governor's Address in Assembly on Sunday, the Chief Minister said that the victory of TRS with a thumping majority was a proof that people have reached the people well. He said Telangana State has achieved tremendous growth rate during the four-and-a-half year regime. While the growth rate in the first three years was 17.17%, in the current year it is 29.93% which is the highest in the country.

The Chief Minister said that the promise of enhancing the Aasra pension amount from Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 2016 per month would be implemented from the next financial year. With regard to allowance to the unemployed youths of Rs. 3,016 per month, the modalities are being worked and it would be implemented after six month after taking the views of opposition parties and others in consideration. Increase in Rythu Bandhu amount from Rs. 4,000 to Rs. 5000 per crop will also be implemented from the next financial year.

The Chief Minister said in view of the Parliament elections in the month of May, the Central government is presenting the Vote on Account Budget. Therefore, Telangana State too will go for the Vote on Account Budget may be for the 3 months or 4 months. This Vote on Account Budget will be present in February as the Central team of Finance Department will be visiting the state in the midst of February to take the stock of the needs and requirement of the state.

Seeing the Growth rate, the Chief Minister has estimated that the State would get over Rs. 10 lakh crores in the coming 5 years. Of this, an amount of Rs. 2.45 lakh crore would go towards debt services. Once this amount is cleared, the State will get debt of another Rs. 1.35 lakh crores. He said that the State will have sufficient funds for implementing all the development and welfare schemes. He said the first priority of the government would be Irrigation projects in this term also. There will be increase in target of providing water to one crore acres to 1.25 crores acres in the coming 3 years, the budget on the Irrigation project will go to about 1.25 lakh crores.

The Chief Minister said that another priority of the government is Education and Health Sector. He said more residential institutions will be established under KG to PG free education Scheme, as there is plan to establish one medical college for every 3-4 district. It is likely that about 9 to 10 Medical College will be established and one will be Sangareddy as promised by him.

The Chief Minister has rejected the demand for joining with Central Government's Ayushman Bharat scheme in which each poor family member is eligible to get free medical treatment upto Rs. 5 lakhs in Corporate Hospital. He said that the State was already implementing the Aarogya Sri Scheme started by the late Y.S. Rajshekhara Reddy. If some more diseases are added, this will be better scheme than the Central Government scheme. He said all the government hospitals are being upgraded.
