Forty fall ill after drinking contaminated water Visakhapatnam, Oct 21 (INN): At least 40 employees of a cement factory were admitted to hospital after falling ill due to suspected contamination of water in Elamanchili mandal in the district on Thursday. According to sources, about 40 employees working in Mulakalapalli cement factory were admitted to the hospital after displaying symptoms of dehydration and diarrhoea. The workers had consumed the water, suspected to be contaminated, during their breakfast.
All the workers have been shifted to Government General Hospital in Elamanchili. Among the 40, five of the employees condition turned critical. Following the advice of doctors, the officials of cement factory shifted them to King George Hospital in Visakhapatnam district. The officials collected the water samples from the factory and sent to a laboratory for analysis.
