TRS activists storm Zaffargarh police station Warangal, January 20: Tension prevailed at Zaffargarh , near here on Friday when TRS activists stormed the police station alleging that one of their leaders was severely beaten up by police and demanded an unconditional apology.
TRS leader from Venkatapuram, Balaraju sat on a dharna at the police station alleging that Sub-Inspector Ramakrishna had severely beaten him up and when the news of his dharna spread, TRS activists stormed the police station and demanded an unconditional apology from the police.
The arrival of former MLA of Station Ghanpur, Dr T Rajaiah has further aggravated the situation and police had a tough time to get the situation under control.
In wake of the ensuing by-elections for Station Ghanpur assembly constituency, tempers were running high between TRS and TDP activists.
Former Minister Kadiyam Srihari (TDP) visited Venkatapuram where he was stopped by TRS activists resulting in skirmishes between cadres of the two parties.
They mutually damaged party flag posts and complained against each other with Zaffargarh police.
'Sub-Inspector Ramakrishna was biased and he has beaten up our leader,' said Dr T Rajaiah and demanded action against the sub-inspector.
