AP to procure 2400 MW Power on Long Term Hyderabad, Oct 28 (INN): The Govt. of Andhra Pradesh has initiated several steps to ensure adequate & quality power supply to the consumers of all categories by expediting the construction of ongoing projects, enhancing generation capacity in the existing generating stations with improvised PLF, reduction of Transmission & Distribution losses, putting in place Energy Efficiency & Energy Conservation (EE&EC) measures apart from generation of power through conventional and non conventional sources.
As a part of this, to meet the future needs by short-term & long-term bidding process the AP Power Utilities, have initiated process for procurement of 2400 MW thermal power on long term basis from thermal power stations through Public Private Partnership(PPP) on Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Owned (DBFOO) basis. The plants need to have CIL linkage coal and has to be supplemented by imported coal and should have COD (Commercial Operation Declaration) before 31.12.2016. The tenders are prepared as per the guidelines issued by MoP, GoI and Request For Qualification (RFQ) document was also uploaded in APTRANSCO, APSPDCL, APEPDCL websites.
In this connection it has been decided to arrange a pre- application conference meeting with prospective thermal power developers on October 29 at 11 AM, in main meeting hall, Vidyut Soudha, Khairatabad, Hyderabad.
While reviewing the arrangements for the meeting, K Vijayanand, CMD/APTRANSCO has said that the power developers can seek clarification, express their feedback and suggestions on the bidding documents. The CMD has requested the developers to avail this opportunity for supporting the utilities in achieving the targeted power procurement within the scheduled time frame.
