Anganwadi workers dharna in Ongole Ongole, November 22. All India Fereation of Anganwadi Workers and Helpers (AIFAWH) staged dharna at prakasam bhavan here on friday for their land standing demands and withdrawl of privatisation of some Anganwadi centers in prakasam district.
AIFAWH district president M. Manoja urged the government to implement all the promises made during their agitation in February and also demanded a provision of monthly minimum pay Rs. 15000/- for each Anganwadi worker.
CITU district secretary Ch. Srinivasa Rao demanded that the government recognise Anganwadi workers and helpers as public servents and should be provided benefits of gratutity and pention to them.
The Anganwadi workers shouted slogans and demanded that the construction of buildings for Anganwadi centers and clearance of pending travelling allowance bills immediately.
