20th TANA Convention begins The much awaited event, 20th Convention of Telugu Association of North America started on a grand note in Cobo hall, Detroit. Supreme Court Judge Justice NV Ramana, Central Minister Venkaiah Naidu, Andhra Pradesh assembly speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao, Telangana Assembly Deputy speaker Padma Devendar Reddy, Nizamabad MP Kavitha, Tollywood members K Raghavendra Rao, Venkatesh, Suresh Babu, Tapsee and other prominent people attended the event on its first day.
The event started with the inaugural speech by TANA conference convener Gangadhar Nadella. He said that the able guidance of TANA President Mohan Nannapaneni and the hard work of its members was the driving force behind the organisation of such a huge event. "Around 600 volunteers worked hard for 6 months to bring the TANA's dream into reality. TANA will never forget the contribution of the donors" he added. Later the event took off with Ganapathi Sthuthi.
Speaking on the occasion TANA President Mohan Nannapeni said that one should never forget the service of eminent Telugu personalities who strived for the progress of Telugu community and upliftment of Telugu culture. He added that this event's main aim is to honor people like them.
Performances by noted Telugu singers Viswaa, Sri Krishna and comedy show by Siva Reddy entertained the guests on day one.
