SFI to gherao at Ministers residences over fee Hyderabad, Sept 8 (INN): The Student Federation of India (SFI) on Wednesday warned the government that its activists would lay siege to the residences and convoys of ruling party Ministers at the district level by September-end if funds for the fee reimbursement scheme is not released.
Talking to Indian News Network, SFI president K Chandra Mohan took exception to the delay in solving fee reimbursement and scholarships issue. He charged the government of failing to keep to keep the promise it had made in its manifesto. He further said that students pleas have been ignored or left in cold storage.
The students across the state pursing professional- and nonprofessional courses have been left in the lurch by the indifferent attitude of the government over the issues of fee reimbursement and scholarship. The government is playing with sentiments and careers of students by giving false assurance, the SFI president rued. Earlier, the students staged a demonstration and burnt the effigy of the State government at the Somajiguda Press Club.
