Intruder attacks inmates of girls' hostel in Tenali Tenali (Guntur): One girl was seriously injured and two others suffered minor injuries as unidentified persons trespassed into Sai Girls' Hostel and attacked the girls here at Tenali in Guntur district on Wednesday.
One Harini, who suffered serious injuries, was rushed to a local private hospital where she was admitted to intensive care unit. Police arranged heavy bandobust at the hospital and the hostel to restrict the entry of the media persons.
Local people were panicked by the incident as Ayesha Mira of Tenali was brutally killed at a hostel in Ibrahimpatnam near Vijayawada, earlier in a similar incident.
The case became mysterious as girls and hostel warden made contrary statements.
While girls stated that three persons broke into the hostel, the warden said that only one person entered the hostel.
She claimed the person was a thief and reported that two mobile phones and Rs 1,500 went missing. She added that girls were injured in their attempt to catch the offender.
It is learnt that the hostel warden was trying to cover the incident by wiping out the evidences and making false statements to mislead the police.
If the police fail to take up proper investigation, the case could lead to serious turns like that of Ayesha's murder case.
