TRS demands committee to study weavers' problems Karimnagar, Sept 01 (INN): The Telangana Rashtra Samithi on Saturday demanded that the State Government waive off the interest on loans taken by powerloom workers, a facility now being availed by handloom weavers.
Addressing the Mano Dhairyam Rally at Sircilla, TRS MLA K Tarakarama Rao said that the government should waive off the interest on loans taken by weavers, including those using powerlooms.
He also demanded constitution of a high-level committee to study the problems being faced by the weavers' community.
Tarakarama Rao also appealed to the weavers not to commit suicide. Stating that ending their lives would not solve their problems, he said that the weavers live and fight for their rights.
He assured them that the TRS would fight for their cause and ensure that justice is done to them.
He also appealed to the government to take the issue of weavers' suicide seriously and initiate immediate measures to solve their problems.
