State reeling under heat wave Hyderabad: Several places in the State recorded the highest maximum temperatures of the season. While Coastal Andhra and Telangana recorded 3 degrees more than the normal temperature, it was four degrees Celsius higher in Rayalaseema.
Ramagundam recorded Wednesday's highest at 46 degrees C, followed by Nizamabad at 45 degrees C. The other temperatures recorded in the State were: Nellore 43, Hyderabad 43, and Kakinada 41. The Met office has warned that heat wave conditions are likely to continue.
Meanwhile, due to low-pressure rain occurred in several places in the State during the last 24 hours ending at 8 am on Tuesday. The notable amounts of rainfall (in cm) recorded were: Kalyanadurgam 6, Yemmiganur 5, Tamballapalli 4, Rayachoti 2, Kuppam, Alur, Madakasira, Lakkireddipally, Chittoor, Pulivendula and Penugonda 1 each.
