Nagarjuna to host reality show
Popular Tollywood hero Akkineni Nagarjuna is all set to make foray into television with a 'game show' titled 'Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu' (Who among you is a Millionaire).
The show is a Telugu version of the popular 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' and Nagarjuna will be hosting the show. The programme will go on air in June on MAA TV.
Addressing a press conference at a star hotel in the city, Nagarjuna said, 'I have accepted to be a part of this show with a sense of social responsibility. This is not just an entertainment show, but one that will impart knowledge to all sections of society'.
He later enthralled the audience with a mock demonstration of the show and his wife Amala Akkineni was the first guest in the 'hot seat'.
Nagarjuna called the show, a 'life-changer' and a 'game changer'. In response to a question he replied that this show was not contemplated when his father was still alive, but expressed the hope that his father would have approved of it and would have blessed him.
Celebrities from all walks of life graced the event. Chairman of MAA TV Nimmagadda Prasad and one of the directors of MAA TV Allu Aravind were present at the event.
Famous television personality, Sidharth Basu will be in charge of the programme. The show is tipped to be the biggest ever in the history of Telugu Television with international standards and will be produced by 'Big Synergy'.
The call for entries for the programme will commence on April 24, wherein participants throughout the State can register themselves to take part in the game show by answering questions through SMSs on their mobile phones.
Elaborate call centre arrangements have been made to respond to all the messages. Extensive mass media campaign has been designed using all media platforms like TV, newspaper, radio, hoardings and digital and social media to promote the show in every nook and corner of the State. Participants get a chance to win cash prize ranging from Rs 1,000 to Rs 1 crore by answering questions correctly.
