Cong took 1,100 lives to make T a reality: Pawan

Hyderabad: Deriding family rule, Jana Sena leader Pawan Kalyan on Tuesday called upon the people of Telangana to think twice before exercising their franchise.

Addressing a huge gathering at Nizamabad, Pawan said people should vote for a party that would help the new State to grow faster and not those who make false claims or those who use foul language against all.

He exhorted the people to keep aside the feeling of caste, religion and region and vote for a candidate who is capable of taking the new State on the path of development.

He said every party is claiming that it is responsible for the formation of Telangana. 'Congress claims that it has given Telangana. It took 10 years and lives of 1,100 to make Telangana a reality. The party and the leaders are responsible for loss of lives,' he said and appealed to the public to demand an explanation from the Congress leaders and hold them accountable for the loss of lives whenever they come to seek votes.

The actor said Congress and its leaders were concentrating on ring roads and real estates and left governance for good for a decade. The UPA regime has neglected an entire generation. 'Now, Congress says that it will develop Telangana. I don't believe them, do you?' Pawan Kalyan questioned.

Pawan Kalyan said KCR is under the impression that his family represents the entire Telangana. 'There is a lot more to the State than KCR and his family. I have read every word of the TRS manifesto.

There are huge promises but with the language he is using and the way he is behaving, I doubt that he will be able to get permissions from the Centre, which are crucial to many of the projects mentioned in the manifesto,' he added.

He took strong objection to the language used by KCR during his election speeches. He said KCR has no right to say that Seemandhra people cannot contest from Telangana.

'He should remember that PV Narasimha Rao contested from Nandyal and Indira Gandhi from Medak. It is time KCR stopped fanning passions,' he said. He also criticised the Congress for the manner in which it divided the State.

Speaking at LB Stadium, he referred to the wrong economic policies of the UPA government and said because of its misrule the prices of all essential commodities, including LPG, had skyrocketed.

He said the only mantra should be development and only slogan 'Congress Hatao Desh Bachao'. The actor reiterated that he was on the dais because of Narendra Modi. 'My party has become Modi Sena,' he said.

The minute he started supporting Modi, many of his friends have turned foes, he said. Still, he said he would remain undeterred as for him the future of the country and youth was important.

Recalling his visit to Gujarat, he said he was surprised to see that Modi's office did not have the familiar scene of leaders chewing Pan Parag.
