Modi's Telangana campaign was successful: Javadekar Hyderabad, April 23 (INN): Bharatiya Janata Party national spokesperson Prakash Javadekar on Wednesday informed that BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi would undertake another round of campaigning in Telangana.
Addressing a press conference here, Javadekar said that Modi would address a few public meetings on April 27th or 28th. He described Modi's Tuesday's visit as successful and said the joint address by Modi, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu and cine star Pawan Kalyan was welcomed by the people. He expressed confidence that the TDP-BJP alliance would come to power in Telangana in the next elections.
Javadekar said that the biggest problem of Telangana and Seemandhra is unemployment. Youth in both the States expect jobs to lead a life of self-respect.
"BJP has an action plan for creation of jobs through massive public and private investment in the sphere of infrastructure. Infrastructure includes irrigation and housing, besides roads, rails and ports.
Power of ports is an important integral part of infrastructure development. All these lead to creation of a large number of opportunities in the job market," he said.
The BJP leader said that irrigating one hectare of land creates 5 new job opportunities. "We have a plan to utilise at least 50 TMC of Godavari and Krishna rivers, which goes into the sea, thereby creating irrigation potential in 50 lakh hectares.
This one single programme will create millions of new job opportunities. Creating skills is another facet of this employment-driven programme. UPA talked about creating skills for the last 10 years, but they did nothing. We will start action right from day-one. Thus, there will be skilled manpower and millions of job opportunities in the country," he said.
Javadekar also clarified that BJP was raising not an issue of a family but is raising the corruption issue by the family. "Priyanka Gandhi's accusations are under hypocrisy as she herself is raising personal issues against Modi everyday. This is a typical Congress double speak," he said.
"The Wadhra land issue is not a personal issue. It is an issue of corruption. People want to know why the land use was changed by the Haryana Government and is it not a misuse of power with insider information?
The land worth Rs.8 crore becomes Rs 58 crores within three months because of the land-use change sanction. This is a quid pro quo arrangement. It is an open-and-shut case of corruption. Nobody can take asylum under the garb of personal issue to cover up the corruption," Javadekar said.
