Nehru flays Naidu for 'deceiving' ryots VIJAYAWADA: Senior Congress leader and former minister Devineni Rajashekar aka Nehru has come down heavily on chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu for 'deceiving' farmers on loan waiver scheme and expressed optimism on the restrengthening of the Congress party in the state.
Addressing the Vijayawada East Assembly constituency workers meeting here he said, 'The decision of the Congress to bifurcate the state and the rejection of YSRCP by the people had helped the TDP win the elections.'
He lauded the efforts of party workers for their consistent support and urged them to play an active role in bringing Congress to power in the next elections.
He also said that the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee meeting would be held at Machilipatnam on August 3. It would be addressed by APCC president N Raghuveera Reddy, he said and disclosed that a demonstration to protest against the injustice done to farmers and DWCRA women would be held on August 4 at the Sub-collector's Office in the city.
Rajahmundry Congress Party incharge Kandula Durgesh stressed the need to prepare a plan on the role of volunteers and said that Naidu was whiling away time by releasing white papers on several schemes in order to create confusion among people.
Congress leaders Devineni Avinash, Adapa Nagendar, Buchi Nageswara Rao, Sunkara Padmasri, Kadiyala Buchibabu and party workers attended the meeting.
