Naidu warns YSRC of stern action HYDERABAD: Strongly condemning the behaviour of YSRC members in the State Assembly, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu warned Tuesday that his government would not allow anyone to take law into their own hands and vowed to initiate stringent against anyone seeking to break the law.
Commenting on the scuffle between TDP MLA Hanumantharaya Chowdary (Kalyandurg) and YSRC MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy (Chandragiri) on the floor of the House, Naidu said the behaviour of the YSRC members reflects their mindset and political inexperience.
'The YSRC members' behaviour mirrors the deterioration of quality leadership in that party,' he observed and said, 'They want to run the House on their own terms. But, it is not possible. Everyone has to work within the framework of the law. Political leaders cannot violate laws and behave irresponsibly.'
Pointing out that the YSRC member involved in the ugly episode is a first-time MLA, he suggested he had better discipline himself and learn the rules of the House.
'It's ironic that people with a criminal background are talking of violation of laws and peace,' he said. Claiming that when he was in the Opposition, the then YSR government had never let him raise former TDP MLA Paritala Ravindra's murder case in the House, Naidu alleged, 'The same people who were involved in Paritala's murder are now raising a hue and cry.'
Asked about YSRC allegations that law and order situation in the State has deteriorated after the TDP came to power, the Chief Minister replied, 'The government faced a lot of difficulty in controlling red sanders' smugglers and in the process, 10 people were killed. I will not tolerate any violation of law and order and will deal with those indulging in it very sternly.'
Jagan tactics unfortunate, says Naidu
Naidu said at a time when Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is saying that injustice has been done to AP in the process of bifurcation, YSRC chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, instead of cooperating with the government, was targeting it.
'It has just been 70 days since the government was formed. It is unfortunate that the Opposition is trying to derive political mileage when the State is passing through a difficult phase,' he said.
