Hyderabad will be free from pot holes soon Hyderabad, Aug 28 (INN): The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has adopted a new technology which can fill all the pot holes on the roads in its limits within 90 days.
Speaking after launching the first-of-its-kind pot hole vehicle here on Thursday, GHMC Mayor Majid Hussain said that latest technology would address the grievances of pot holes on roads in a more scientific manner.
The new system is both easy to apply and cost-effective. The pot holes filled using the new technology will last for one year. The Mayor hoped that all pot holes in the jurisdiction of GHMC would be filled within 90 days.
Named as 'Road Doctor', one Infra Red Pot Hole Repair vehicle has been launched on Thursday and the GHMC proposes to hire four more vehicles on outsourcing basis to deploy on vehicle in each of the five zones.
The GHMC Commissioner informed that the vehicle was approved after it passed several trial runs in some of the areas during last week. This technology also facilitates filling up of pot holes even if there is water on the roads.
He requested the people to call on 24x7 Toll Free No. 21 11 11 11 to give their representation for filling of pot holes and in a span of 12 hours, the GHMC will fill the pot hole without causing any inconvenience to the public.
He said the vehicle takes about 30 minutes to complete the pot hole filling work and therefore, up to 40 locations can be covered in a day.
Deputy Mayor G Rajkumar, MIM GHMC floor leader Mohammed Nazeeruddin, Standing Committee Member Wajid Hussain, Engineer-in-Chief R Dhan Singh, Chief Engineer K Suresh Kumar, Executive Engineer Veera Pratap and other senior officials were also present on the occasion.
