Jana Reddy demands disqualification of Yellandu MLA Hyderabad, Sept 17 (INN): Leader of the Opposition K Jana Reddy on Wednesday sought the disqualification of Yellandu MLA K Kankaiah.
Jana Reddy, along with other Congress MLAs, met Telangana Legislative Assembly Speaker Madhusudana Chary at his chambers in the Assembly and urged him to disqualify the Yellandu MLA for defecting to Telangana Rashtra Samithi.
Speaking to media persons later, Jana Reddy said that the TRS was setting an unhealthy trend of encouraging defections in opposition parties. He said that the people of Yellandu have voted in favour of Congress party and therefore, Kankaiah should have resigned from the post before joining the TRS. He described the acts of revolt as immoral and unethical.
Jana Reddy advised Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao either to restrain from encouraging defections in Congress party or face agitation.
