Apollo Hospitals Cycle rally to raise awareness on Osteoporosis Hyderabad, 18th October, 2014: Patients, doctors and staff of Apollo Hospitals, Secunderabad, participated in a Cycle rally - 'Pedal your way against Osteoporosis' on the eve of 'World Osteoporosis Day' on Saturday from Apollo Hospitals, Secunderabad to Keyes High School, to raise awareness about Osteoporosis.
'World Osteoporosis Day' is observed annually on October 20th. International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF) observes this day to raise awareness of this condition which causes bones to become thin and frail.
This cycle rally was aimed at improving public awareness and understanding of the condition called Osteoporosis, as well as informing on the best treatments, says Dr. Mithin Aachi, Joint Replacement Surgeon, Apollo Hospitals Secunderabad. ''Arthritis and Osteoporosis are most commonly encountered orthopedic problems. One of the best ways to treat is regular exercise. Cycling is a good exercise for patients suffering from arthritis and Osteoporosis. It is low on energy demand and can easily be done by even patients who have undergone joint replacement'' adds Dr.Mithin.
