Hussainsagar will be restored: Harish Rao Hyderabad, Oct 22 (INN): Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao on Wednesday announced that State Government would take all measures to restore historic Hussainsagar lake to its original position.
Speaking in a review meeting with the officials of Ground Water Development Department here, Harish Rao said that the inflows of drainage and other pollutants into Hussainsagar would be diverted through canals to prevent further pollution of historic lake.
He said the advise given by experts would be followed in this regard. He said said that cleaning of Hussainsagar would add more beauty to the city of Hyderabad and therefore, all steps would be taken to ensure that the restoration of historic lake. He promised that funds would not be a constraint for this task.
Harish Rao said that the government would review the status of ground water system with the officials once in three months. He also informed that Union Minister Uma Bharathi has been requested to release Rs 240 for Telangana projects and assured that the State would also release its share of funds.
