T-BJP hopeful of getting 500 MW power from Centre Hyderabad, Oct 22 (INN): BJP senior leader and Secunderabad MP Bandaru Dattatreyya on Wednesday expressed confidence that the BJP-led NDA Government would provide 500 MW of additional power to Telangana to overcome the ongoing energy crisis.
Speaking to media persons here, Dattatreyya said that Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal has assured the Telangana unit of BJP of extending full cooperation to Telangana State in dealing with the power crisis. He hoped that the Centre would grant 500 MW power to Telangana at the earliest.
Dattatreyya urged Governor ESL Narasimhan to review the status of water reservoirs in both the States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. He said both the States should end their differences in the interest of Telugu people.
However, he held the wrong policies of TRS Government responsible for the suicide of more than 250 farmers in the State. He said that the government neither waived off the crop loans nor promised any succor to the affected farmers. He demanded that the government provide an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh to the families of each of the farmer who committed suicide.
Speaking about MIM winning two seats in Maharashtra, Dattatreyya said that Majlis won the two seats by fluke. The Maharashtra Muslims would soon pack off the MIM to the Old City of Hyderabad after understanding its real face, he said.
