Tollywood workers call off strike Production activities in the Telugu film industry have been hit with employees strike demanding hike in wages and better working conditions. For the past couple of days, the employees of Tollywood Film Federation have been protesting for the hike of their wages upto 32%. Workers of 24 crafts have announced eternal strike on their pay hike.
Since the Producer's Cuncil has not accepted their demands, the workers gave a call for indefinite strike from Monday on-wards. Workers union put a demand to hike betas (daily payment) for which producers council told them to increase by small percentage.
However, the federation has demanded more than that. After a long discussion, the union leaders told them to extend the strike until the producers council accept their demands.
Now finally the issue has sorted out. After a couple of meetings, finally, the TFF and the producers council have come an understanding and the workers called off their strike. As such, shootings will be resumed from tomorrow.
At present, junior artistes and drivers get Rs 500, make-up men/women and costumers get Rs 800, light men get Rs 525 and production assistants get Rs 500 per day.
