PVNR Express Way beautified spending 64 lakh Hyderabad, Oct 24 (INN): The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has spent Rs 64.65 lakh for the beautification of 11-kilometres stretch of PVNR Express Way.
Following a decision taken in January this year, the GHMC has placed 1,298 cement pots with 4 varieties (IT, Lanco, Square & Rectangular) placed on the Express Way. These pots which were procured during the COP-11 summit during the year 2012 and which were removed from various corridors for Metro Rail Project works were utilized on the PVNR Express way.
Varieties of bougainvillea have been planted in the pots to give aesthetic look to the express way. Bougainvillea Formosa, Garbara, Torch glow, Thimma, Dr. Rao, Subra varieties have been used for planting.
Likewise, four 5000-litre capacity water tanks have been erected; one borewell was dug under the PVNR Express way for water supply to flower pots through drip irrigation.
