Rs 1.5 Cr to TS MLAs for constituency development HYDERABAD: Telangana MLAs will get Rs 1.5 crore towards Assembly constituency development programme from this year. At present the MLAs and MLCs were getting Rs 1 crore every year for the development works.
TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao announced this at a meeting in Telangana Bhavan here on Friday. Ahead of the budget session of the state Assembly, the TRS Legislature Party (TRSLP) met here on Friday to chalk out the strategy and floor coordination in the Assembly. TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao, who chaired the meeting, spoke with the MPs, MLAs and MLCs.
During the brief interaction, Rao announced that the Assembly constituency development funds would be increased by Rs 50 lakh from this year making it Rs 1.5 crore.
SOLAR PUMPSETS: Chandrasekhar Rao also told the leaders that a private company has come forward to install solar panels in around 20 lakh agricultural pumpsets in Telangana.
'The Central government is giving 70 per cent subsidy on solar panels. The company proposes to install the solar panels bearing the remaining 30 per cent, if the state government gives guarantee. The company will take the bills for the installed solar panels only after 10 years,' a senior TRS leader and party MP told Express after the meeting.
Rao also stressed the need for coordination between local officials. The MLAs and local leaders should work in tandem with the officials, the chief minister said.
