Living in Hyderabad far cheaper than Singapore Hyderabad: Hyderabad may be lagging behind Singapore in many aspects and will have to go a long way to develop into a smart city, but it has a lot of advantages compared to the South Asian city in becoming a global investment destination. Statistics show that the fast-expanding city of Hyderabad has vast tracts of land available for industries, compared to Singapore or even Dubai.
The Telangana government has estimated that at least three lakh acres of land is available for setting up of industries and infrastructure development.
The soon-to-be unveiled industrial policy is expected to highlight this aspect. And the biggest advantage is that land comes at a cheaper rate for prospective investors in and around Hyderabad, compared to Singapore.
According to the data available, the residential property rates are also reasonable, when compared to Singapore, where the property rates have almost touched the sky.
Another field in which the city holds a big advantage over established markets is the availability of resources like workforce, land, electricity and water at a cheaper rate. This makes the cost of living in Hyderabad cheaper than in Singapore.
It is evident from the statistics that the city is almost a hundred per cent cheaper in terms of property prices. This is due to the fact that the average monthly disposable income in Hyderabad is at least 80 per cent lower than what the Singaporean counterparts earn. While average salary per month in the city is around Rs 30,000, the same is Rs 1.8 lakh in Singapore.
This has ensured that property prices and consumer goods are considerably lower in Hyderabad. Statistics reveal that on an average, prices of food, utilities, transportation and leisure activities are almost three times expensive in Singapore when compared to Hyderabad.
