Efforts to make ORR accident free: Home Minister Hyderabad, Nov 26 (INN): Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy on Wednesday informed that State Assembly that as many as 37 accidents have occurred on Outer Ring Road in the last six months.
In his reply to a question posed by MLA Manchireddy Kishan Reddy during Question Hour, the Home Minister said that a joint initiative of HMDA and Cyberabad Traffic Police was launched on January 18 this year wherein five vehicles were provided by HMDA and staff was provided by Cyberabad and Medak police. These vehicles are patrolling the stretch between Gachibowli and Pedda Amberpet.
Further, the minister said more vehicles and staff need to be added to the existing patrolling to improve enforcement; More signage's giving information about speed limits, lane driving, direction, etc., to make the users aware; cameras to capture violations on ORR need to be installed; deployment of traffic policemen on ORR to be increased and sign boards with 'Go Slow' instructions need to be erected.
