'Hope for Humanity' donates 10,000 meals Washington DC: As part of Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays, Hope for Humanity, a non-profit organization in US donated 10,000 meals to third world very poor countries (Panama, Haiti, Nicaragua, etc.) school feeding programs and orphanages. This is a very important program in many impoverished areas families to send their kids to school if they are well fed.
"The meals packed are of highly nutritious, dehydrated meals comprising of rice, soya, vegetables, flavorings and 21 essential vitamins and minerals. Each package provided a reasonable serving for six people and each serving costs approximately 25 cents (Rs.15) to make. The meals are easy to transport, store and distribute" said Subba Rao Kolla, Secretary of Hope for Humanity in a press release.
More than 40 Children and Adult volunteers from http://www.feedhungrypeople.org/ another nonprofit organization participated in meal packing. The packing of meals was a lot of fun and kids enjoyed in packing food in assembly line. Stop Hunger, a national nonprofit organization helping to distribute packaged food to different destinations in the world.
Hope for Humanity founder Krishna Boppana thanked its President, Balaji Vanapamula, Secretary, Subba Rao Kolla, founder of http://www.feedhungrypeople.org/, Murthy Keshav, Nagoor Inaganti, Eswar Gantamaneni, Mohan Tammisetti, Srinivas Chodavarapu, Madhav Boyalla, Rajesh and other volunteers for their effort.
Other Hope for Humanity activities include life time education to more than 150 kids in Vijayawada and Hyderabad, cleft surgeries, woman empowerment, Coats for kids, etc. So far Hope for Humanity donated more than 1 million dollars to under privileged people since its inception in 2007.
