KCR to hold round table on free education Hyderabad, Dec 22 (INN): The Telangana Government will conduct a round table conference to discuss the modalities for implementation of 'KG to PG' free education scheme.
The decision was taken during a review meeting held at the State Secretariat on Monday by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Chief Minister Dr T Rajaiah, Education Minister Jagadish Reddy, Advisor to Governor BV Paparao, Secretary to CM S Narsing Rao, Consultant Devender Reddy, SCERT Director Jagannath Reddy, School Education Additional Director Gopal Reddy, OSD (Education) D Srinivas and other senior officials.
Addressing the review meeting, the Chief Minister said that steps should be taken to improve the standards of education in Telangana State. He said that the higher and quality education should be accessible to everyone, including poorest of the poor.
He said a strategic and practical approach needs to be taken to take a few decisions. For instance, the class from which English medium should be introduce; suitable age for a child to get admitted in hostel; the standard of education and teachers to impart 'KG to PG' free education. These issues would be discussed in the round table conference which would also be attended by education experts and officials.
It has also been decided to establish one residential school in each Assembly constituency across the State. Each school will be established on 10-12 acres of land and will have facilities like hostels, play ground, dining hall, quality food and other amenities. The Chief Minister also proposed common syllabus, common exams and even common menu for all schools.
