Talasani to visit Begum Bazar Machli Market Hyderabad, March 18 (INN): Commercial Taxes Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav assured the Telangana Legislative Assembly on Wednesday that he would visit the Machli Market situation in Begum Bazar to review the proposal for its modernisation.
Raising the issue during Zero Hour, BJP MLA T Raja Singh said that the National Fisheries Development Corporation had santioned Rs 2.25 crore for the modernisation of Machli Market. Similarly, the GHMC had sanctioned Rs 3 crore in the year 2003 to develop the market. However, the modernisation works could not be taken following objection raised by a group which declared the Machli Market as a heritage structure. He insisted that the government take up immediate measures to modernise the market which has been causing huge inconvenience to the people due to unhygienic conditions.
Intervening on the issue, Talasani said he would visit the market soon and take required steps.
