GHMC to open modern graveyard Hyderabad, March 23 (INN): The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will soon open a modernized graveyard 'Mahaprasthanam' at Road No 45, Jubilee Hills.
The graveyard, being established on 3.7 acres of land, will be free from pollution and equipped with latest technology including an electric crematorium, cafeteria, Wifi, shower bathrooms, lockers and chanting of Bhagwat Geetha hymns. GHMC Commissioner & Special Officer Somesh Kumar on Monday briefed Chief Secretary Dr Rajiv Sharma that this was the first time that GHMC is taking up an modernized graveyard with all basic minimum facilities to perform the last rites. He also informed that major graveyards in the GHMC would be modernized on the same lines in near future. The process to develop Punjagutta graveyard is also on and it would be taken up very shortly.
