Protect forests using technology: Javedkar Hyderabad, March 27 (INN): Union Minister of State for Environment Prakash Javadekar said that the forests should be protected using latest technology. Electronic surveillance, Pilot less arboretum, Satellites can be used effectively for this task, he said.
Speaking to the media after visiting Telangana State Forest Academy here on Friday, he informed that an interaction would be conducted with the walkers at the KBR Park on Saturday morning. 'This kind of interactions will be continued as the public opinion is crucial in making the greenery in cities', he said.
The minister expressed happiness over the maintenance of arboretum at the forest academy. Nearly 800- different verities of plants are available here. He said that with the steps taken by his ministry, the tigers' population has increased.
During the interaction with the officer trains at the academy, he said that there is a need to change in the existing forest acts. When the forest officers maintain good relations with the surrounding population of the frosts, naturally its protection will be easy, he said.
