TSCBOA helps family of cab driver Hyderabad, April 12 (INN): The Telangana State Cabs and Bus Operators Association had extended financial assistance to the family of Shiva Anand, a taxi driver, who had committed suicide allegedly due to ill-health and financial problems on April 1.
On hearing the news of Shiva's suicide, the TSCBOA had approached the Asif Nagar Police seeking their help in reaching out to the family of Shiva, which resides in HUDA Colony of Asif Nagar, in order to extend some financial help. Subsequently, Shiva's brother Satish was called to the Asif Nagar Police Station on Sunday and in the presence of Sub-Inspectors Zakir and Upendra, TSCBOA President Syed Nizamuddin and Joint Secretary Chandrashekar Goud handed over cash of Rs 10,000 to him.
Satish told the TSCBOA leaders that his brother Shiva was suffering from ill-health while their mother too was sick since a quite long time. Since Shiva was unable to bear the cost of treatment due to financial problems, he committed suicide on April 1st by hanging to the ceiling. He thanked the TSCBOA for the gesture.
Speaking to media persons later, Nizamuddin requested all cab drivers and others not to take any extreme step in whatever are the circumstances. He said that the TSCBOA would try to help all the drivers to the best possible extent and they should never feel alone. He said crisis is part of the life and therefore, one must learn to face and overcome them, than resorting to steps like suicides.
