Implement latest technology in Horticulture Hyderabad, May 22: A meeting has been convened by the Commissioner of Horticulture, Telangana State on Convergence in Horticulture Department which was chaired by Minister for Agriculture, Horticulture and other allied sectors.
Speaking to the participants the Commissioner of Horticulture explained about the convergence strategy and instructed all the field staff starting from Horticulture Extension officer to Dy Director of Horticulture to work very strongly and disseminate the latest technology to the needy farmers.
He explained that from now onwards both the MIP and Dept of Horticulture has to work under same umbrella to attain maximum exposure of all schemes and timely technical advice to the farmers.
Addressing to the all department officers like Dy Directors, Asst Directors, Horticulture officers and other out sourcing staff Minister has stressed on extension working capacity at the field level to shift technology from Lab to farmers fields.
Further he has stated that Horticulture is the only area where in farmers can get higher incomes starting from 1 Lakh to 5 Lakh per acre. Therefore all the field staff has to encourage the needy farmers to take up Horticulture in a big way by which the livelihoods of them can be taken to higher status.
Further Minister stated that the suicides in agriculture farmers can be stopped only by encouraging them to take up the highly fetching Horticulture crops and advising them from sowing to harvesting.
Further the Minister expressed his deep grief about some of the field staff who are not working properly in the field and reiterated taht the services of such negligent officers are not required to this holy department.
The Minister instructed all the Horticulture department field staff to work very carefully by whole heartedness other wise necessary disciplinary action will be initiated against such poor performers in the field
