Harish Rao lays foundation stone for civic works Hyderabad, May 24 (INN): Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao laid the foundation stone for several developmental works in NBT Nagar area of Banjara Hills here on Sunday.
Accompanied with TRS Secretary General and Rajya Sabha MP K Keshava Rao and other leaders, Harish Rao laid the foundation stone for several works related to civic amenities, drinking water and removal of high tension wires as a follow up to the assurances given during 'Swachh Hyderabad' programme. Speaking on the occasion, Harish Rao said high tension electric wires from atop the houses were being removed at a cost of Rs 1.30 crore. He said that the drinking water facility would be provided to the locality at a cost of Rs 3 crore. A building for women's welfare will also be constructed at an area of 1200 square yards in the area.
Stating that he would participate in the developmental works in the area on every Sunday, Harish Rao said the distribution of pensions and ration cards would be taken up from June 7. The State Government will construct 2BHK flats for the poor of Indira Nagar locality soon by spending Rs 18 crore.
