Theatres To Have Five Shows Soon In Telangana The sub-committee of the Telangana legislative assembly on film industry has made several suggestions on the development of film industry in Telanagana state. The meeting was attended by bigwigs from film industry has decided to encourage low-budget and message-oriented movies in a big way.
The sub committee has opined that the number of films shows in theatres be hiked to five from four, but suggested that only low budget films are played in the fifth show. The sub-committee also said that the number of theatres for small films should be hiked from 30 to 50.The sub-committee gave its nod to allocate 9 acres of land in Chitrapuri to construct homes for the film workers. Also, the sub-committee gave its assent to the proposal to set up a TV and Film Institute.
Prominent persons from film industry Dasari Narayana Rao, D Suresh Babu, N Sankar, Murali Mohan, Tammareddy were present at the meeting.D Suresh Babu insisted that the tax system be reviewed so that the burden on new productions is reduced. Other film personalities asked the Telangana government to provide health insurance and pension facilities to poor artists.
