Nayani promises revival of sick industries Labour and Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy assured that the Telangana Government would soon revive all the sick industries in the State including Kagazhnagar Paper Mill and Rayons Factor in Warangal.
Addressing the official May Day celebrations at Ravindra Bharathi on Sunday, the minister said that the State Government was taking all measures to extend benefits to the labourers in non-organised sectors. He said that the insurance amount for the construction labourers has been increased and its implementation began with effect from today.
Nayani blamed previous governments for the closure of several factories and industries in Telangana. He said Kagazh Nagar Paper Mill in Adilabad was closed recently despite the clearance of dues worth Rs. 6 crore to the workers. He said that the Nizam Sugar Factory has also announced lay-off of some factories. He said steps would be taken to revive all these closed and sick industries.
The minister announced that the insurance amount for accidental deaths at workplace has been increased from Rs. 5 lakh to Rs. 6 lakh while the amount for permanent disability has been enhanced from Rs. 3 lakh to Rs. 5 lakh. He said that the State Government has also decided to increase the Daily Wages of labourers and necessary orders would be issued this month.
The Labour Minister also felicitated workers of Singareni Collieries and other companies on the occasion.
Legislative Council Chairman Swamy Goud, MLC Ramulu Naik and other senior officials were also present.
