120,000 dollars raised at Detroit ATA Day Detroit, USA: American Telugu Association (ATA) celebrated the 'Detroit ATA Day' over the weekend at St. Toma function hall, Farmington Hills, Michigan. The event was organized to express gratitude to Detroit Telugu people for their continued support to ATA, to celebrate the Telugu Culture, to inspire Telugu families all across to converge for the milestone 25-years ATA Convention in Chicago scheduled to be held from July 1st ' 3rd, 2016 and make it a runaway success.
The event was organized under the leadership of ATA Trustees Hari Prasada Reddy Lingala and Murali Bommanaveni, Regional coordinator Yugandhar Bhumireddy, ATA Consular Services Chair Kashi Kotha and Vendor Committee co-chair Sunil Manduti.
Over 1000 people attended the event along with several prominent leaders from Detroit Telugu Community. Donations and Registrations exceeding $120,000 were pledged at the event for the Convention.
DK Aruna, MLA from Gadwal and former Minister graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Tollywood actress Pranita Subhash attended as Celebrity Guest. Singers Sandeep Kurapati and Hanishka Polimera entertained the guests with their energetic and melodious songs. Rene Joy's dance performance mesmerized the audience.
ATA Trustees Bhuvnesh Boojala from DC and Anil Boddireddy from Atlanta, Conference team led by Palvai Chandra Sekhar Reddy (Convener), K Krishna Reddy (Director), Krishna Mushyam (Co-convener), Ramesh Garapaty (Cultural coordinator), MahidharMusukula (Office coordinator), Radha Krishna Reddy (Local coordinator), RamarajuAvadhutha (SyeATA chair), Malla Reddy Bokka(Registration Chair), ChandiniDuvvuri (SyeATA co-chair), VenkatThudi (Chicago RC), Vikram Reddy (Political co-chair), Suresh P, Naveen Manyam (reg co-chair), Sainath, Vijay Reddy Yanala (Youth Chair) actively participated in organizing the event.
Chandra Sekhar Reddy Palvai, Bhuvnesh Boojala, KK Reddy, and Krishna Mushyam explained about ATA accomplishments & Convention highlights and invited everyone to attend the ATA Silver Jubilee Convention that is going to be held on July 1st, 2nd& 3rd at Rosemont Convention Center, Chicago.
During the daytime starting at 8AM, Detroit ATA team organized Singing and Dance competitions. Over 200 participants exhibited their talent and competed to get selected for the Final competitions to be held at the Chicago Convention. Ramesh Garapaty and RamarajuAvadhutha from Convention Cultural Committee presented mementos to Judges. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners received Winner Certificates and Gift hampers from DK Aruna and Pranita.
ATA team presented mementos and honored the donors, Madhav Reddy, Dr. Harshavardhan R Krishna, Dr. Harnath Pulicherla, Kashi Kotha, Sunny Reddy, Sreedhar Bandaru, and RSRIT (Ravi Vellam, VenkatGone, SreedharKodati) for their contributions.
