Pay revision meager: CPI Hyderabad, July 1 (INN): The Communist Party of India (CPI) has demanded that the Centre upgrade the pay scales of the Central government employees and urged the latter to have detailed discussions with the trade unions before implementing the decision of the Cabinet announced this week.
The present hike of 14.3 per cent is the lowest compared to all the earlier pay revisions, the CPI statement said. The party also felt that the minimum wage of Rs 18,000 was much lower than Rs 26,000 demanded by the employees, it pointed out.
