Jaitley inaugurates Symbiosis International University Hyderabad, July 24 (INN): Symbiosis International University's (SIU) Hyderabad campus at Mamidipally was inaugurated by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley here on Sunday.
Headquartered in Pune, SIU has its off campus centres in Nashik, Noida and Bengaluru - Hyderabad being the latest addition.
Arun Jaitley applauded the Symbiosis' move to establish a new campus in Hyderabad. He said, 'It is great step by Symbiosis to set up an educational institute in Telangana, near IT hub Hyderabad.' As there are 45 disciplines in Pune campus, he wished the same to be implemented here in SIU Hyderabad. He also stressed on the point that it is extremely important to the institute like Symbiosis that created its own brand and stood by its methodology that ones who are willing to acquire the knowledge would not be deprived of the opportunity. He advised the student snot to settle for mediocrity and strive for excellence.
Information Technology Minister K. Tarakarama Rao inaugurated the Hyderabad Chapter of Symbiosis Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (SCEI). SCEI has been set up to promote entrepreneurship and foster innovation among the youth of India. He also appealed students to adopt new age mantra of Innovate, Incubate and Incorporate. He stressed on competing globally instead of locally.
Mahabubnagar MP A.P. Jithender Reddy, BJP leader G. Kishan Reddy were among those present. SIU Chancellor Dr. S. B. Mujumdar presided over the function. Dr. Mujumdar said that the equation of E= F will change the shape of the world, where E stands for Education and F for Future. Thus India must come up with more institutes imparting quality education that would instill a bright future among young Indians.
SIU Vice-Chancellor Dr. Rajani Gupte and Symbiosis Principal Director Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar also graced the occasion.
The Hyderabad off-campus centre is a residential campus measuring 6 lakhs sq.ft.and spread over 40 acres of land. It houses academic buildings, library, hostels for students, residential facilities for teaching and non-teaching staff, auditorium with a seating capacity of 1000, recreation and wellness centre and sports facilities.
