Lashkar Bonalu celebrated with pomp and gaiety Hyderabad, July 24 (INN): Secunderabad Ujjaini Mahankali Jatara or the Lashkar Bonalu was celebrated with much pomp and gaiety here on Sunday.
Thousands of people, including Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and his cabinet colleagues visited the Ujjaini Mahankali Temple in Secunderabad. KCR, along with his family members, performed puja. He offered silk clothes to the goddess. Union Minister Bandaru Dattatraya visited the temple with his family members, and performed puja.
Elaborate security arrangements were made to ensure hassle-free conduct of the festival. Over 3,000 police personnel were deployed for bandobust.
The festival will conclude on Monday. The organisers expect that over 15 lakh people will participate in the festival this year.
