Congress will enlighten people on scam: Uttam Hyderabad, Aug 26 (INN): TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Friday announced that the Congress party would enlighten the people of Telangana on the huge irregularities being committed by TRS Government in construction of irrigation projects.
Addressing a meeting with irrigation experts and senior party leaders at Gandhi Bhavan here, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the Congress party would approach each and every village in the State to explain the heavy damage caused to them due to the wrong policies of TRS Government. He reiterated the allegation that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao was spearheading the country's biggest scam in the name of re-designing of irrigation projects. He said he would not get intimidated by threats of KCR and he would continue to expose the failures of TRS Government.
Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the TRS Government, especially the Chief Minister, was under depression since the Congress party gave its Power Point Presentation on irrigation sector while exposing the hollow claims of KCR. He said that the Congress party replied to the KCR's presentation in Assembly only after conducting thorough research. The inability to counter the Congress party's presentation, the Chief Minister resorted to the cheap tactics of threatening the opposition leaders of implicating them in false cases, he said.
The TPCC chief said that the Congress workers would approach the masses with real facts and figures on each and every irrigation project in the State. He said that the Congress party would build a mass movement against KCR's plans to "rob the State's exchequer" in the name of redesigning of irrigation projects.

Jana Reddy, TPCC Working President Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, former TPCC president Ponnala Lakshmaiah, ex-minister Marri Sashidhar Reddy, TPCC Chief Spokesperson Dr. Sravan Dasoju, Jala Sadhana Samithi convener Nainala Govardhan, irrigation experts and senior leaders of Congress party attended the meeting.
Ponnala, in his presentation, claimed that the previous Congress regimes had build a reputation for designing best irrigation projects in the country and constructed SRSP, Srisailam Dam, Jurala and other big projects. He said not a single project received any objection from the Centre. Further, he said Pranahit-Chevella project had received 14 major clearances required to get National Project status.
Sashidhar Reddy asked whether KCR could get National Project status for Kaleshwaram Project if he was so confident about its design.
The meeting was also attended by Rajya Sabha MP Palwai Govardhan Reddy, MLAs G. Chinna Reddy and A. Sampath Kumar, MLCs Akula Lalitha and Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, TPCC Vice-Presidents Sabitha Indira Reddy and Mallu Ravi and other senior leaders.
