Bhatti demands Agriculture Minister's resignation Hyderabad, Oct 25 (INN): TPCC Vice-President Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Tuesday demanded the resignation of Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy from the post due to the failure of State Government to prevent influx of spurious seeds into the market.
Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan here, Bhatti said thousands of farmers in Khammam, Warangal and Nalgonda districts were hit due to spurious seeds of Soyabean, Mirchi and pulses. He said that the Agriculture Minister and officials were directly responsible for this and therefore, Srinivas Reddy should owe the responsibility and tender his resignation.
Bhatti also demanded stern action against the culprits. Besides cancellation of their licenses, they should be booked under PD Acts. He said as against the claims of turning Telangana into Seeds Hub, the State Government was shielding those selling spurious seeds.
Kishan Khet Mazdoor Cell chairman M. Kodanda Reddy and former Whip Arepally Mohan were also present.
