Mudragada village Kirlampudi besieged Amaravati, Jan 24 (INN): Andhra Pradesh Police has put a siege to the village Kirlampudi in wake of Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham's proposed Kapu Satyagraha scheduled on January 25.
The blockade was also put on local Kalyana Mandapama where the agitation was to be started and surveillance at Mudragada's residence was also increased. Police team led by Peddapuram DSP has been deployed in the area.
Several Kapu leaders, supporters and others have been reaching the Kirlampudi village in solidarity with Mudragada's Satyagraha. The agitation is with a demand for BC reservations for Kapu community in the state.
Kapu JAC leaders say that they would organize rallies as part of their agitation whereas the police officials deny any such permission was given to Kapu leaders. Mudragada was also not given any permission for the proposed Satyagraha.
Police officials are also weighing the Mudragada's moves ahead of the event. The proposed Satygraha was earlier scheduled to be started on November 16, 2016 however due to police denying permissions it could not be held.
The situation in the town Kirlampudi is tense with the swelling number of Kapu supporters and deployment of large number of police personnel.
