Three TRS rebel MLCs disqualified Hyderabad, Jan 16 (INN): Telangana Legislative Council chairman Swamy Goud on Thursday disqualified three MLCs - K. Yadav Reddy, R. Bhupati Reddy and S. Ramulu Naik, for defecting from TRS to Congress party.
The decision has been conveyed by State Legislative Secretary V. Narasimha Charyulu in three separate bulletins issued on Wednesday, a day before beginning of Assembly sesions. The MLCs have been disqualified with immediate effect under Para 2 (1)(a) and Sub-Para 3 of that Para of the Tenth Schedule to the Constitution of India r/w Articles 191(2) of the Constitution of India and Rule 6 of the Telangana Legislative Council (Disqualification on Ground of Defection) Rules.
While Bhupati Reddy was elected as MLC from Nizamabad Local Authorities Constituency, K. Yadav Reddy was elected from Assembly Constituency and S. Ramulu Naik was nominated by the Governor. They had joined the Congress party before Assembly elections held in December last year.
