DL, an idle brain, says Kiran
Visakhapatnam: The war of words between chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and health minister DL Ravindra Reddy refuses to die down even as Delhi keeps advising them to bury the hatchet and work as a team to lead the party to victory in the ensuing byelections.
'He (Ravindra Reddy) does not have any work and so do you (media). You had better ask Ravindra Reddy why he has said so about me,' Kiran Kumar Reddy retorted when asked for his reaction to Ravindra Reddy's charge that he is YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's covert in the Congress.
Kiran Reddy had a brief stopover at Visakhapatnam on Sunday afternoon while on his way to Srikakulam district to address election rallies.
Though a cold war has been brewing between the two leaders for quite some time, it is for the first time that the chief minister reacted to the comments made against him.
But he and his supporters are doing their duty silently, impressing upon the party high command how Ravindra Reddy is lowering the image of the government and the party with his 'irresponsible' comments.
The party leadership, though not very happy with the internecine quarrels in Hyderabad at a time when byelections are due for one Lok Sabha and 18 Assembly seats, is waiting for the elections to be over to set the house in order.
Ravindra Reddy has recently called Kiran Reddy number-one covert of Jagan Mohan Reddy and substantiated his argument saying that Kiran Reddy had been maintaining silence even though Jagan had not been sparing the Congress and its president Sonia Gandhi during electioneering and Odarpu Yatras. The minister even dared the chief minister to ask Jagan how he had amassed huge wealth.
Asked how many seats the Congress would win in the byelections, the chief minister said: 'We will try to win all, including the Nellore Lok Sabha seat. The results will show who is stronger than whom,' he said.
