Lately i was called by my cousin who are planning to name their 1st child(baby girl).. After few minutes of conversation i was given the task to suggest any names and luckily both my sis and Jiju are not very particular with the 1st alphabet that it shud start with one particular word nor they want to name it according to the baby's nakshitram.. so it was bit easy for all to suggest as many names as possible to the poor parents who now are left with so many names yet could not decide which will be the perfect name for their beautiful baby!!..
I thought for a second and suggested to think about the name AROHI means Evoloving.. but my intention was the 1st alphabet from my jiju's(Anand) and nxt alpha's from my sis's name(Rohini)..after all kids are the ultimate part of parents so why not from their names.. normally i try to suggest this way.. mixing words from the parents names and finally bring out a meaningful name out of it.. and it really works(atleast this it did!!).. Like i was named like that(by both g.ma and g pa's 1st names) Sanjogtha...
After that call i was still left thinking(i always had this thought).. Why are names so important, do name of a person influence his/her personality/attitude?
What if he/she is a stranger but when we hear abt their name.. do we really imagine of what kind of person they can be atleast partially..
Like in our indian culture some names are so athenticated that even that so called name person also behaves like their name nature.. EG: Saraswathi.. she may be either too good in her academics or she has a good voice and good taste for music, male name like raghu/ram/raghav.. some or the other way they do tend to have some qualities just like the name sounds..Is it sheer coincidence or the environment they have grown in has such impact on making them?
Some funky names. some sizzling names, some musical names, some poetic names, some mythylogical, some legendary names some family names(orey abbai nuvve ma peru nilabettali ra)..soem nicknames, some soundalike names, some tongue twister names, some too regular names..So what is in the name?Why do name has power when it is just a noun and even god has defined that man should name every thing in this nature.Personally though i find it silly but many of us even in this moderan age find names have "magic power"(film actors, crickters, all public personalities)
Guys post ur thoughts on what u feel about names and like what names you ppl love to name or like the most.. Lets see what we feel for names!!
SS sanju | Hey there..Kumar ya ya i too agree with some names are so weird and so hard to pronounce too..Some parents out of respect to the family names they name their kids but they sound so wierd and sometimes makes horrible for some kids.. I know one of my frnd used to have abiggg bigg problem with his name though he tried to change it legally still it was really a big issue back home..
I simply luv da way foreigns pronounce indian names..they either split it or stress it more.. ic. dh, th, le.. Sandya they say san-deeya, padma Pad-ma, raju.. razhuu, bhupathy they say Boo-patee, Ramesh .. Reym -esh... to name few more even my name is quite a bit misspronouce/written incorrect as my name is a soundalike with Sanjuktha whereas im Sanjogtha,..
Though many a times we try to correct still their will be some one again we have to start again with hehehe..
SO what's in the name anyways!!!

SS sanju | Indeed u name is unique atleast ela anukovadam lone undi Unique!.. Thrill or tina wat so ever the name is but you are what u are...Even though me parents mi peru ala kakunda maredayina pettana kuda meeru bahusa elane undevaaremo..(penchina pempakam/perigina vatavaranam/ma vyapakalu/manamlo unde viluvalu ) ivanni yentho okanta mana ni oka sampurana mayina vyakthi ga terchididdutayi.. But kevalam peru lo em undi manishi chese panullo undi ani anadaniki ledu sumi.. Yneduvallantara.. Oka white paper em value ledu ade paper meeda mi signature(name) unte.. a paper kentho value perigipotumdi.
