Have you seen rediff.com(owned by a Tamil) openly and shamelessly featuring articles of Sivaji in some sort of sensational way almost every half day. You know why? It is a propaganda war to win over Bollywood superiority. As a South Indian, I am very happy with the effect Sivaji created. But I would have appreciated it better if Chiranjeevi has done it. As a Telugu guy I would like to point out few marketing deficiencies of Tollywood. After watching terrific movies like Pokiri and how they lost great opportunity to market our stars further in other film industries, I was wondering why our producers and directors are playing business dumb. Aa naluguru is a masterpiece. SS Rajamouli's Sye could have been a sensation. So is the directorial skills of Vinayak. Go and direct stars of other languages. Art and talent has no language barriers. Aa Naluguru would have been treat movie for critical audience like Malayalees and Bengalees. All Nagma movies are good for Bhojpuri.
Take for example Pokiri, they should have dubbed and released it in Tamilnadu at the time of Sivaji. So is the case with Indra. I have seen lot of Tamil families liking this movie immensely. Also Mahesh Babu is a great talent and face value to market on world stage. We almost lost opportunity to market the brand Chiranjeevi. One reason being lack of association with top rated brands. Look at Shivaji, AR Rahman, Shankar. If Chiru had the same commbo, he would have done the same or more hype, but made the movie hit with his better entertaining elements. I would like to quote Gharana Mogudu which was a retake(taken at the sametime) of Rajani's movie. But Gharana Mogudu was a bigger hit.
Why not we put some character artists from all regions and dub and release movies in all alnguages at the same time. Bhojpuri, Malayalam, Tamil and Kannada. Our stars should act in guest roles neighbor film industries. That will bring them fortunes in terms of marketing their Telugu movies as dubbed versions.
Associate with directors like Mani Rathnam, Murugadas, AR Rehman. I also like to see Chiranjeevi in more matured roles rather than dance and fight roles.
Even Shankardada Zindabad. Time to dub it as Uppidada Zindabad, and Vasool Raja Zindabad. Why not Japanese as Yakazimi 2007 something. If asians like Rajani then they will die for Chiranjeevi. Go for it and dub it in Bhojpuri and Gujarathee, Marathee. You should not hesitate in marketing. You try to sell and there are people always to watch a movie.
And finally stop fighting and start marketing. Look at us we ridicule our own stars as salmon rajus and at the same time raise flag for buffoon like absurd tricks of Rajni to new heights. Media watch yourselves. Its a propaganda war and we should counter it. Do you remember the words of Chiranjeevi in Vajrothsavam. We have no respect outside because we fight among ourselves.
