Jagtial Collector inquiry on medical negligence
Hyderabad, April 18 (INN): Jagtial District Collector Yasmin Basha expressed serious concern over the incident of medical negligence in which doctors forgot to remove the cotton cloth from the stomach while carrying out surgery on a woman. She called for a detailed report on the incident from the medical department.
The collector also inquired about the woman's health. The Collector said that it was sad that such an incident had happened. She said that a full inquiry will be conducted and action will be taken against those responsible.
The victim, Navya, said that since the delivery at the government hospital, she had severe abdominal pain. She said that when she went to a private hospital and underwent a scan, the doctors told her that there was cotton cloth in her stomach. Surgery was performed again and the infected lump was removed with a cotton cloth. It demanded action against the concerned doctors who behaved negligently.
